Martina McBride(マルティナ・マクブライド)は1966年カンサス州シャロン生まれの,カントリー・ミュージックのシンガーソング・ライターです。今のアメリカを代表する最も歌唱力がある女性カントリーの歌手のひとりです。最初のアルバムをリリースしたのは1992年ですから、今の歌手と比べると少し遅いデビューです。
と、当たり前の紹介はさておき、彼女はカントリーはもとより、何を歌ってもめちゃめちゃ上手です。嘘だと思う人は、彼女がアカペラで歌う「O Holy
Night」（賛美歌第二編219番：歌詞は左下にあります。）を先ず聴いてみてください。歌声が人を感動させることをあらためて教えてくれます。もちろん彼女の歌は何時聴いても良いものは良いのですが、この歌はクリスマスのための歌なので、春や真夏には合いません。やっぱりクリスマスにこそ聴きたい。「クリスマスだからマルティナ・マクブライドを聴こう！」きっと貴方も分かっていただけると思います。
